Bio The Three-Toed Sloth
As I travel ‘long that Pathway
Whilst a Robin sings a Song
I listén to that Melõdy
Catch a vision of a dream
The Song a-humming:
The Song-bird's fallén in Love
Its heart a-thrums, a beating drum
Ignoring its own rhythm, Sings forever
Lost in mem'ry
Never wond'ring where lives its Dove
Does not rejóice, nor cry.
I grow weary of this ignõr'nt devotion
Turn away my soul,
Catching words spoken by a Friend
She speaks lightly, softly, clearly
Invoking my curiosity
My heart unlocked to Love and Pain
As words of Ardor, of Ecstasy are uttered
I feel as she does
Yet cannot stand her code
I avert my eyes in Folly
Looking towárd the sun
That fiery Ball
Created in Passion,
Later worshiped in Pain and Love
It burns steadily, both Deity and Friend
Master and Slave
It dictates life and death
Never repentant, always remorseful
Yet the Sun, too, is foolish
For none can gaze upon its glory
But only at its simpler Depictions
My attention then wavers, my gaze now wanders
Upon the ground I Spy a Diamond
Glitt'ring, she gleams in dimness
A sparkle vivid, in the quiet
A lovéd child, crying soft,
Unable to expréss her pain
She smiles endless,
But cries inside,
Unwilling for others to relate
My gaze does not wander, but intensifies
As I pity her for beíng so loved
I fin'lly sigh, and rénew my journey,
My Friend now a great deal beyond.
Never stopping, she does not wait
I further lówer my pace
My eyes gaze further
Straying from my path
Spying beauty each place I look
A flitting and a flutt'ring
Passenger of the heavens
A graceful push
A rapid pull
This Creature remáins aloft
It struggles endless; it drifts along
Its Body in the sky
Hov'ring momentarily,
Waves those tiny wings
A moment later is nowhere near
No more a Painting of my mind
My journey ends not
My walk as yet untroubled
I step along etern'lly
Always searching, always looking
For Something to adore,
And when I find it
As I will, and I know it
I shall understand its faults,
Help it, perhaps Love it
But never cause it Pain
And as I finish with that Creature,
I shall do so once again.
